CBA Partner Appalachian Mountain Brewery to Expand Distribution to South Carolina and Tennessee

BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian Mountain Brewery (“AMB”) is celebrating its fifth anniversary as Boone’s beer pioneer today, February 14, 2018. Since opening its doors on Valentine’s Day in 2013, AMB has been committed to brewing seriously delicious craft beers and ciders with a focus on community, sustainability, and philanthropy.  To celebrate its growth over the past five years and continue bringing its philanthropic approach to craft beer to more consumers, AMB is expanding into South Carolina and Tennessee in spring 2018, with its core portfolio and IPA series.  In addition to expanding into two new states, AMB also announced all of its beers will be transitioning from 16oz cans to new, more convenient 12oz 6-pack and 12-pack formats starting in March.

“AMB was founded on the principles of sustainability, community, and philanthropy,” said Chris Zieber, head brewer, Appalachian Mountain Brewery.  “Since opening in 2013, we’ve been able to live out these values by giving back to local nonprofits, supporting community, and installing solar panels in the brewery, while doing what we love to do. As we expand beyond our home state, we’re excited to meet the passionate communities of South Carolina and Tennessee and see how something like beer can be the change we want to see in the world.”

AMB Core Portfolio

  • Long Leaf IPA – AMB’s flagship brew, Long Leaf IPA’s name is taken from the North Carolina State Toast. Its piney, resinous hop character pays homage to North Carolina’s State Tree, the longleaf pine.
  • Boone Creek Blonde – A recent Great American Beer Festival Gold Medal winner in the Blonde Ale category, Boone Creek Blonde is an easy-drinking ale named for the creek that runs along the AMB taproom.
  • Spoaty Oaty Pale Ale – Spoaty Oaty Pale Ale is AMB’s interpretation of a classic American Pale Ale. Brewed with a generous amount of oats and steeped with Citra and Amarillo hops, the beer blends into a perfectly unique hop-forward flavor and aroma, with a backbone of malty oats.
  • AMB Porter – A high country legend, AMB Porter was one of the first beers on tap when the brewery opened its doors in 2013. Not only is it a local favorite, Porter also took home a gold medal at the 2015 Great International Beer & Cider Competition in the Robust Porter category.

AMB Five-Year Anniversary Party, February 17

AMB will host their Five-Year Anniversary Party at its taproom in Boone, N.C., on Saturday, Feb.17, from noon-7pm, where guests can enjoy live music and plenty of AMB beer.

During the event, AMB bartender Rustin Clawson will perform a live acoustic set from noon-3pm, and Roanoke, VA-based Black Mountain Revival will play from 4-7pm. Head Brewers Chris Zieber and Nathan Kelischek will be pouring pints behind the bar, and guests will have an opportunity to take home the first batch of new 12oz cans of Long Leaf IPA, Boone Creek Blonde, Spoaty Oaty Pale Ale, and Porter.
