Catawba Brewing Releases HOPness IPA

Morganton, NC — Catawba Brewing unveils their new flagship HOPness IPA on Saturday, May 20, with release day festivities planned at all Catawba locations. Brewed with an abundance of fresh Citra and Cascade, and dry-hopped with Amarillo, this IPA boasts a big biting hop profile layered with ripe tropical fruit, juicy citrus, and pine. At 6.5 percent ABV and 60 IBUs, it strikes the perfect balance of everyday drinkability with intensely aromatic and flavorful hop character.

HOPness IPA will soon be available in 5-state distribution, on draft and in 6-pack cans, wherever Catawba beers are sold.

Catawba taps a Small BatchCalifornia Common (5.5 percent ABV) on Thursday, May 18. This interpretation of the classic steam beer was brewed according to tradition, with a touch of dark specialty malts, lagered at warmer temperatures. The beer has rich flavor notes of caramel and toasted malt, with moderately assertive hop character (Fuggle and Palisade).

California Common is Passport Beer #20 in Catawba’s 2017 Small Batch rewards program. Brewed in their Asheville South Slope brewhouse, the beer will be available in Catawba’s four tasting rooms, and in limited distribution.
