Bronx Brewery Releases First Brew

The Bronx BreweryNEW YORK – The Bronx Brewery, a new craft brewery based in the South Bronx, NY, released its flagship brew, the Bronx Pale Ale last week in bars throughout New York City.

“We’ve worked hard over the past year to get our recipe right and now that it is, we’re proud to have it on tap in some of New York’s best craft beer bars and restaurants,” said Chris Gallant, The Bronx Brewery co-founder and General Manager.

The Bronx Pale Ale, developed and brewed by co-founder and Head Brewer Damian Brown, is a deep amber, American-style pale ale that is brewed with five different barley malts, generous additions of Cascade and Centennial hops, and a unique strain of yeast. It is dry-hopped, unfiltered and unpasteurized.

According to Brown, the Bronx Pale Ale is a unique version of the traditional American-style pale ale. “What really distinguishes the beer is its freshness, the strength and complexity of its caramel, biscuit, and nutty malt flavors, and its focus on hop flavor and aroma rather than the extreme bitterness found in many American pale ales and IPAs.”

“Pure Finesse! Finally a pale ale that tight rope walks the balance of hops and malt,” says Gianni Cavicchi, Beverage Manager and Sommelier at Café D’Alsace and founder of BeerSomm.com.

The Bronx Pale Ale is currently available in draft kegs, with 12oz and 22oz bottles to follow next year. It can be found at bars and restaurants in NYC, including:

Amity Hall (West 3rd Street, Manhattan)
Bronx Ale House (216 West 238th Street, Bronx)

The Bronx Brewery was founded in 2009 by a small team with two things in common: a maniacal focus on creating high-quality beer and a passion for the Bronx. Its traditionally crafted ales use only premium and minimally processed materials to create fresh, bold beers from a borough known for its own bold individual character. Join the team in their journey as they bring the rich brewing tradition back to the Bronx and craft a beer that the people of the Bronx and New York City are proud to call their own.
