Boulder Beer Company to Release Irish Blessing Oak-Aged Coffee Stout

Boulder, CO – Boulder Beer Company, Colorado’s First Craft Brewery, is pleased to announce the upcoming release of Irish Blessing, an Oak-Aged Coffee Stout, in cans and draft.

Irish Blessing is a dark coffee Stout brewed with an abundance of black and chocolate malts for a bittersweet chocolate finish, and OZO Coffee for rich roasted coffee notes. The beer is then aged on Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey soaked oak chips. It clocks in at 6.2% ABV and 40 IBU’s.

“We collaborated with our friends and local roasters at OZO Coffee in Boulder to determine the perfect roast to complement our Stout, choosing their OZO Blend to use in the brew, adding earthy, roasted coffee flavors to the beer,” said Tess McFadden, Marketing Director at Boulder Beer Company. “We then age Irish Blessing on Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey soaked oak, imparting the finishing touches of whiskey and wood.”

Boulder Beer initially released Irish Blessing in February 2017 on draft only. The response from retailers and consumers was so positive, they decided to bring it back this year and add a 12 oz 6-pack can package for off-premise accessibility. The beer will be available from mid-January through March in cans and draft.

Irish Blessing rolls out for the season on Wednesday, January 17th, with release parties happening at both Boulder Beer Pub locations – The Pub on Wilderness and Boulder Beer on Walnut. From 5:30 – 6 pm, anyone 21+ can grab a free pint of this year’s Irish Blessing at either Pub. Tullamore D.E.W. will also be at both locations with samples. Live music starts at 5:30 pm at The Pub on Wilderness and at 7 pm at Boulder Beer on Walnut. At 7 pm, the brewery will also be giving away tickets to Boulder Beer’s St. Patrick’s Day Rager with Sam Bush on 3/17 at the Boulder Theater.
