The Beyster Institute Hires Jennifer Briggs

SAN DIEGO – The Beyster Institute at UCSD’s Rady School of Management announced today that Jennifer Briggs, formerly a senior executive with New Belgium Brewing Company, is joining the Institute.  Her efforts will focus principally on advising companies on the development of high-performance organizational practices.

High-involvement, high-performance organizational cultures, especially when coupled with employee participation in ownership, have a proven track record for driving business growth and profitability. As part of the Beyster Institute, Briggs will advise business leaders on how to cultivate the social and management facets of a strong organizational strategy, especially as companies prepare for a transition to employee ownership.

According to Briggs, helping individuals, teams and corporate communities to be their best, become profitable, and providing a stellar work environment with opportunity for growth always has been a high priority to her.

“New Belgium Brewing, now the third largest craft brewer in the U.S., can fairly be described as the poster child for the benefits of high-involvement workplace culture grounded on employee participation in ownership,” said Martin Staubus, executive director, Beyster Institute.  “Their business results are off the charts and Jennifer Briggs was instrumental in driving the development of their high-involvement, high-performance organizational strategy.  We’re delighted to have her become a part of our organization.  I know she will be in immediate demand from the craft brewing industry, but companies in other industries will want to tap her knowledge as well.”

Briggs previously served on the executive team at New Belgium Brewing Company in Fort Collins, Colo., as vice president of Organizational Development.  In that capacity, she oversaw human resources, risk management and employee training.

Briggs received an M.A. in Organizational Leadership and Enterprise Project Management from Regis University, and a B.S. in Community Health Education from the University of Northern Colorado.
