Avery Brewing Announces 2 Executive Hires

Avery Brewing Co. this week announced the promotion and hire of a pair of key executives.

Brian “BK” Krueger will join the Boulder, Colorado-headquartered company as director of sales and marketing.

Krueger, who has plenty of experience in the Colorado market after a 16-year career as sales executive with New Belgium Brewing Company in Fort Collins, will fill the role being left by Dustin LeMoine, who the company is promoting to Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately.

LeMoine worked for five years with the company in his previous role, and he is credited with helping grow Avery’s sales to 62,087 last year and easing the company’s transition into its destination brewery two years ago, according to the release. He will report directly to founder and CEO Adam Avery.

“Dustin has developed a rare perspective beyond sales,” Avery said, via a press release. “No one understands the whole breadth of operations better than Dustin. He is the ultimate facilitator, communicator, change agent, project manager and partner. He cares extremely deep for this company and I trust him 100 percent to further propel our vision of Avery Brewing into reality.”

Meanwhile, Krueger most recently served as the vice president of sales strategy and execution for Enjoy Beer, a craft beer consortium founded by private equity firm Friedman, Fleisher & Lowe (FFL) and Harpoon Brewery co-founder Rich Doyle.

“BK has a next level understanding of our world and will fit in perfectly with us,” LeMoine said in the release. “He is a craft beer guy, who got into this industry because of the beer, but has excelled in his career as an incredibly smart and strategic sales professional with an innate ability to lead and inspire the team around him. He knows how to grow a business from our current size to a size that we want to be in the future, and we cannot wait for him to help us all do our jobs better.”

Former Avery COO Steve Breezley joined Ska Brewing in February in a similar role.

As Brewbound reported earlier this year, Avery is focusing on increasing sales of its most popular brand, White Rascal witbier, with the company’s total sales inching closer to 75,000 barrels in 2017. The company has also invested heavily in a 42,000 sq. ft. barrel-aging warehouse, with capacity for 30,000 oak barrels, near its Boulder brewery.

More details are in a press release below.
