Ale Asylum Announces Imperial Stout Bomber Set and Festival

Madison, WI — Regional craft brewery Ale Asylum is set to release an Imperial Stout bomber set via an inaugural festival to be hosted at their brewery on August 29th, complete with a live performance by a national touring band.

The “Ferment Dissent Imperial Stout Riot & Festival” is a celebration to mark the release of two Imperial Stouts: Impending Dissent and Impending Descent. The 22 oz. bomber bottles will be packaged together in a set and pre-sold for $40 on Eventbrite starting on Monday July 13th at 10 a.m. To spread the deliciousness among as much of the public as possible, they are limiting sales to two sets per customer.

Co-Founders Otto Dilba and Dean Coffey share a fond appreciation for this style of beer and the rich history behind it. “Imperial Stouts have a sublime, almost riotous reputation to them. We wanted to live up to this while putting our own spin on the concept by releasing two versions of the same beer.” quotes Dilba. The hop and malt recipe are virtually the same for both Imperial Stouts but differentiated by the two different yeast strains used during fermentation: Belgian (Dissent) and British (Descent). Both beers made their way through Ale Asylum’s brew house in August of 2014. “I’ve always wanted to age a beer in a tank for an extended period of time. I’m extremely pleased with this result and confident our craft beer enthusiasts and collector community will feel the same way.” explains Brewmaster Coffey.

The brewery hired national touring act Reverend Horton Heat to play at the festival and hopes to attract attendance from multiple states. The 50,000 sq. ft. festival grounds will be located directly behind their brewing facility and will include aged beer releases, vertical tastings, food carts, carnival games and a sound stage. The Tasting Room will be closed that day.
