Lake George, NY — The Adirondack Brewery is proud to announce the release of their newest fall seasonal, a 100% New York State hopped Oktoberfest Lager. This traditional Oktoberfest Lager or German-style Marzen, is very easy drinking with prominent malt characteristics rounded out by the fresh hop additions. Valley View Farm in LaFayette, NY and Mosher Farm in Bouckville provided the Cascade, Chinook & Nugget hops for this truly local spin on Oktoberfest. The Adirondack Brewery purchased over 2,000 lbs of NYS hops in 2013 and brew an array of different locally hopped beer. One of their staples; Beaver Tail Brown Ale, as well as a number of “fresh hop,” harvest ales and specialty casks are all NYS hopped.
“We are thrilled to have so many new hops farms becoming established up around the state, they’re growing some very nice quality hops. It makes for an exciting beer release when we can practice what we preach – local, local, local” said Brewery Founder, John Carr.
Although Adirondack’s Oktoberfest Lager has been a staple in Lake George for years & has been featured at ‘Lake George Village Oktoberfest’ & ‘Adirondack Brewery’s Annual Oktoberfest Brewfest’, it will be released, for the first time, to their entire distribution network which covers 32 counties in New York State. The release will be in 50-liter & 1/6 kegs & will also appear in our seasonal variety 12 pack, “The Fall Challenger.”
