The Spencer Brewery announced today the forthcoming release of its new Spencer Monk’s Reserve Ale, a classic Trappist Quadrupel in the Belgian tradition.

Spencer recently signed on with Powers Distributing of Orion Township to bring these beers to Michigan – one of only five states to carry the product. Cavalier Distributing has partnered with the U.S.’s only Trappist brewery, Spencer Brewery, and will distribute Spencer Trappist Ale immediately throughout Ohio. Brewed by the Trappist monks of St. Joseph’s Abbey (Spencer Abbey) in Spencer, Massachusetts, the Spencer Brewery is one of only 11 Trappist breweries in the world, and the first in the Americas.

The monks at Spencer Abbey today announced they are brewing a new beer called Spencer Holiday Ale to be released exclusively in Massachusetts the first week of November. “We’ve learned that people want seasonal offerings, so we decided to try this holiday brew,” said Fr. Isaac Keeley, Director of Spencer Brewery. “And, it’s being offered only in Massachusetts as the monks’ way of thanking our local customers who have supported us from the beginning.
