Oddwood Ales Opens in Austin

AUSTIN, Texas — Oddwood Ales, the new brewpub opened on March 1st, 2018 on Manor Road in East Austin. A former side project that came out of Adelbert’s Brewery, Oddwood Ales is focused on creating unique American-style wild ales aged in wooden barrels called foeders.

Oddwood owners and brothers Brett and Taylor Ziebarth have been hard at work getting their new space ready for their opening and have already begun brewing the first batch of experimental ales for their opening.

This new neighborhood hangout, just east of Airport Boulevard, will have a 2,500 square-foot taproom that has a look and feel of a mountain cabin, a beautiful wood patio for outside seating, and plans to serve bar-style appetizers and pizzas inspired by Italian cuisine.

Channeling their name, Oddwood’s space will feature 10 different (odd)wood species – from the huge wooden bartop to the tables – an upside-down tree chandelier, indigenous branches transformed into tap handles, as well as some ‘80s, inspired artwork and games. They plan to have 4-5 original beers brewed for their opening and will feature 6-8 rotating list of taps from other local breweries, as well as a wine list.
