CHICAGO, IL – Great Central Brewing Company, (GCBC) a craft-dedicated contract brewing facility and taproom, has broken ground in the Fulton Market District and is on schedule to begin its full-service operation in early summer 2016. The new 32,000+ square foot brewery was created to enable craft brewers and craft beer lovers alike to meet in this new beertopia.

With craft beer popularity booming and many of today’s top brewers at full production capacity, GCBC will provide a seamless and professionally managed solution to expand a brewer’s production capacity without having to expand their existing facility.

“Great Central Brewing Company has been several years in the making and we are excited to bring our unique brewing solution to downtown Chicago,” said David Avram, Founder and Partner of Great Central Brewing Company.

“The concept of GCBC was conceived after we observed a lack of modernized facilities who could offer craft brewers a quality focused, timely and dependable option for contract brewing services. Our approach is predicated on being ‘well considered’ on every level of the brewery supply chain, while striving to realize our principles of dependability, collaboration and innovation. Our concept will enable small to medium craft brewers to capture the benefits of on-demand capacity and cost savings through collective buying power as well as enable more established breweries to enter new markets by leveraging our central location,” added Avram.

Now that GCBC has broken ground, partners Avram, Chris Tepas, and Conor McFerran expect the brewery operations to be up and running early summer. McFerran, Partner and Marketing lead added, “We definitely view it as our house is your house, our brewery is your brewery and we look forward to providing our services to enable brewers to achieve their production and expansion goals.”

“At our core, we will provide our brewing partners with a level of service and transparency unique to the contract brewing segment. Our craft customers will see and feel each step within the manufacturing process, leading to a true sense of B2B partnership,” commented Chris Tepas, Partner and lead of Client Relations.

Furthering their commitment to building a center for hospitality, collaboration, and innovation, GCBC will feature a 4,000 square foot taproom with brews from its clients, along with limited offerings of its own proprietary brand. The taproom will open to the public shortly after the brewery is operational.

The taproom will be a community crossroads for Chicago’s brewers and craft loving consumers. “We look forward to realizing the full scope of our project here in Chicago; it’s a great opportunity to grow the existing local craft community and to give burgeoning and established breweries the opportunity to brew more of what we love,” commented Avram.

Great Central Brewing Company is located at 221 N. Wood Street, Chicago, Illinois 60612, adjacent to the Fulton Market District, Randolph Street Restaurant Row, and the United Center.
