Morganton, NC – Finding a Catawba beer in the state of Alabama will become easier this summer. Catawba Brewing of Asheville and Morganton, NC is partnering with United-Johnson Brothers of Alabama for state-wide distribution. Several pre-release events are scheduled during the next two weeks with full rollout in early July.

Catawba’s expansion into Alabama is the latest new market for the Western NC brewery. “We spent around $2 million over the past six months to expand capacity. We have significantly extended our market coverage in NC and SC, and have been evaluating other areas. Alabama markets keep rising to the top of the list. Their beer scene is young, vibrant, and growing, and we really feel at home there. We are excited to be a part of it!” said Catawba owner Billy Pyatt.

Catawba will enter the Alabama market with five of its flagship beers: White Zombie™, a Belgian Wit beer and the brewery’s most popular beer; Mother Trucker™, an American-style Pale Ale hopped with Magnum and Cascade; Farmer Ted, a malty cream ale that the brewery has been making since 2002; REDiculous™, a west-coast style/hop-forward IPA with copious amounts of Cascade, Citra and Magnum hops; and, Astral Bootie Beer, a session IPA that Head Brewer Kevin Sondey brewed with Astral Designs – a local Asheville outdoor footwear manufacturer. These products will be available in kegs and cans throughout the state.
