Boulevard Brewing today announced it would expand distribution to Arizona and Kentucky, inking deals with two wholesalers — Arizona’s Hensley Beverage Company and Kentucky’s Beer House Distributors.

Boulevard’s parent company, Duvel Moortgat USA, already has relationships with both distributors: In Arizona, Hensley Beverage sells the Firestone Walker brand, which Duvel Moortgat acquired in July. Hensley also recently purchased the rights to distribute Brewery Ommegang and Duvel import brands from Alliance Beverage Distributing.

Beer House Distributors, meanwhile, sells Ommegang and Duvel import brands throughout Kentucky. Beer House Distributors is also part of the Sheehan Family Companies, which operates wholesale businesses in 13 states and carries a variety of Duvel Moortgat-owned brands in those markets.

In a press statement, Boulevard said it would enter both new states in January.

“There has been a strong and persistent demand for Boulevard beers in Arizona for quite some time and Kentucky is seeing an explosion of craft beer excitement,” Bobby Dykstra, vice president of sales for Duvel Moortgat USA said in the release. “We’re thrilled to bring the taste of the Midwest to these states.”

Boulevard also teased a number of forthcoming market expansions in areas like Michigan, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York and Delaware.

Distributor agreements are “still in the works,” the company said.

“With the addition of six new 1,000-barrel fermentation tanks, plans to expand our distribution territory can become a reality,” Dykstra said in the release.
