Odell Brewing Builds on Decades of IPA Innovation with the Release of MDRN IPA

Fort Collins, CO – Odell Brewing Company is proud to announce the release of MDRN IPA, a vibrant and highly drinkable, modern interpretation of one of craft beer’s most beloved styles. Built on the brewery’s decades-long commitment to hop innovation, MDRN IPA delivers bold aroma, bright citrus flavor, and a smooth, balanced finish designed for today’s IPA drinker.

Since Odell IPA helped define the American IPA category in the mid-2000s—earning international recognition, including Gold Medals at GABF and the World Beer Cup—Odell Brewing has continued to push the boundaries of hop-forward beer. Over the years, the Colorado-based brewery has expanded its IPA lineup with releases like Hazer Tag and Mountain Standard IPA, each showcasing new approaches to hop expression.

“Our hop partnerships go back decades,” said Brendan McGivney, Odell Brewing’s COO. “Those relationships allow us to experiment with new hop processing techniques and blends that push the limits of what an IPA can be. MDRN IPA represents the next step in that evolution.”

To achieve this expressive hop profile, the Odell RaD Team worked closely with valued hop partners to create a blend of experimental and lot-selected hops designed to maximize aroma and flavor. The blend includes Yakima Valley-grown HBC 638 Hyperboost®, CRYO Krush®, and Mosaic®, along with an experimental hop from Clayton Farms in New Zealand, creating a juicy and refreshing experience.

At 5.8% ABV, MDRN IPA offers a lighter, modern take on the IPA style while maintaining explosive aroma and flavor. The beer pours a light straw color and bursts with complex citrus, melon, and stone fruit aromas. On the palate, juicy orange zest and white grapefruit notes shine, finishing crisp and clean.

The beer is now available in six-packs and on draft across Odell Brewing’s distribution footprint, as well as at Odell Brewing taprooms.
