LOST FORTY BREWING EARNS SILVER MEDAL AT THE 2026 WORLD BEER CUP®
Arkansas’s Largest Craft Brewery Claims Silver in Wood- and Barrel-Aged Beer Category with TWIG Solera Table Bier, Competing Against 8,166 Beers from 1,644 Breweries in 50 Countries
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS — April 22, 2026
Lost Forty Brewing, Arkansas’s largest craft brewery and a cornerstone of the Little Rock community since 2014, has been awarded a Silver Medal at the 2026 World Beer Cup® for TWIG Solera Table Bier in Category 31: Wood- and Barrel-Aged Beer. The prestigious awards ceremony was held this evening at the Craft Brewers Conference® & BrewExpo America® in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Often referred to as “The Olympics of Beer,” the World Beer Cup® is the most prestigious professional beer competition in the world. The 2026 edition was among the most competitive in its 30-year history, with 8,166 beers from 1,644 breweries judged across 113 beer and five cider categories, with medals awarded in 186 styles by 255 judges representing 37 countries. Breweries from 50 nations competed, making this a truly global measure of brewing excellence.
TWIG Solera Table Bier is a refreshing, effervescent, lightly tart ale featuring a blend of wild cultures harvested from around Little Rock and fermented in Lost Forty’s Missouri White Oak foeder. At just 3.9% ABV, TWIG is a study in restraint and precision — a low-alcohol wild ale whose complexity belies its delicate frame, made entirely in Arkansas from locally cultivated wild yeast and bacteria cultures. The Solera method — a centuries-old fractional blending technique — allows the beer to develop layered character over time as fresh wort is continuously introduced to the living.
“TWIG is one of the most personal beers we’ve ever made. It’s a living beer — literally grown from the wild cultures that exist right here in Little Rock, fermented in Arkansas oak. To have it recognized on the world’s biggest stage is a reminder of why we do things the hard way. This one belongs to the whole brew crew.” — Lost Forty Brewing
The silver medal adds to an already decorated competition legacy for Lost Forty, which has earned honors at both the World Beer Cup® and the Great American Beer Festival® (GABF) — the two most prestigious beer competitions in the United States and the world, both organized by the Brewers Association.
At the World Beer Cup®, Lost Forty has now earned four medals across four competitions, including bronze medals in 2018 for Wild Barrels Project #5 (Experimental Beer) and Double Love Honey Doppelbock (German-Style Doppelbock or Eisbock), and a 2022 bronze for Puffy Jacket Baltic Porter (International Dark Lager).
The 2026 TWIG silver is the brewery’s highest World Beer Cup® finish to date.
At the Great American Beer Festival®, Lost Forty has earned multiple medals and one of the competition’s most coveted honors. In 2017, the brewery took home a Silver Medal for Logger Rita in the Vienna-Style Lager category. In 2020, it earned a Gold Medal for Day Drinker in the Wood- and Barrel-Aged Beer category — and was simultaneously named Mid-Size Brewing Company of the Year and Mid-Size Brewing Company Brewer of the Year, a rare sweep that recognizes not just a single beer but the entire operation’s commitment to quality and craft.
“Winning 2020 Brewery of the Year at GABF was for every single person on our team — from the brewers to the people driving vans across the state. This World Beer Cup silver for TWIG carries the same spirit. We’re a brewery that takes the long way around, and apparently, so does TWIG.” — Lost Forty Brewing
Every beer Lost Forty brews is made entirely in Arkansas. From the Arkansas rice in the 2nd Rodeo Light Beer to the Little Rock wild cultures living in the TWIG foeder, the brewery’s philosophy of “Honor the Craft. Love the Land. Drink to the Future.” is not a tagline — it’s an operating principle. TWIG, in particular, is an expression of place: a beer that could not be made anywhere else, because the cultures that define it are rooted in this city.
TWIG Solera Table Bier is available at the Lost Forty Brewing taproom at 501 Byrd Street in downtown Little Rock, Arkansas.
