Celebrating International Women's Day in March, Michigan's Mothfire Brewing Co. is raising a glass to the women shaping today's craft beer scene — especially the powerhouse team behind their tanks.
Head Brewer Alexis Jorgensen has led Mothfire's brewing program for nearly six years. A California native, she fell in love with brewing as a homebrewer before refining her craft at Stone Brewing in San Diego. After moving to the Midwest and working with breweries across Chicago and Michigan, she found her home at Mothfire, where she's known for balancing technical precision with creative range.
Brewer Casey Brockette brings fresh perspective and collaborative energy to the brewhouse, helping drive Mothfire's evolving beer program.
This year, the brewery is launching a new annual tradition: an International Women's Collaboration Brew Day on March 11. The resulting beer, Rosy — named after the Rosy Maple Moth — will be brewed each year with a new interpretation. The inaugural release is a Session West Coast IPA featuring Riwaka and Nectaron hops, designed to be bright, expressive, and highly drinkable.
