Craft Beer Professionals (CBP) announced today a new nationwide brewery collaboration inspired by the familiar but often misunderstood phrase "6–7." In partnership with No Label Brewing, CBP is flipping the script and turning 6-7 into something tangible, a collaboration beer that directly supports schools, students, and educators in local communities.
The project centers around a 6.7 percent American IPA that breweries across the country can brew or collaborate on, with proceeds donated to a local school or education focused organization of their choice. The goal is simple. Give people a reason to visit their local taproom, order a beer, and support education in their own backyard.
While 6–7 has historically caused confusion for adults, this initiative reframes it as a positive force that creates real impact where it is needed most.
"Our schools need help more than ever," said Andrew Coplon, founder of Craft Beer Professionals. "This industry has always been good at rallying around a cause. This gives breweries a clear, approachable way to support education, engage their community, and turn a pint into something that actually matters."
"As schools across the country face increasing pressure, PTAs play a critical role in providing stability and care for students and teachers. Initiatives like this give communities a meaningful and creative way to show up when schools need it most," said Brittany Raffin, Secretary of the Ghent School PTA, Norfolk, Virginia.
Participating breweries will be required to notate the school or organization they are partnering with during the sign up process. Following the beer's release, each brewery will also submit the amount of their donation to help CBP track overall impact and share the collective results of the collaboration.
No Label Brewing, a multiple award-winning brewery out of Katy, Texas with over 15 years of community impact, is serving as anchor on this project.
"When Craft Beer Professionals brought this idea to us, it felt like a natural fit," said Tom Paynter, Co Owner and Marketing Director of No Label Brewing Co. "We're excited to share a recipe from our World Beer Cup–winning team and give breweries across the country a simple way to turn great beer into real support for their local schools. That combination of quality and community impact is what craft beer is all about."
The artwork for the collaboration is being created by Chris Hernandez, a graphic designer and illustrator within the craft beer industry who has also co-authored multiple children's books. His involvement reinforces the project's connection to education and storytelling while giving the beer a visual identity that stands apart from typical collaboration releases.
CBP expects breweries of all sizes to participate, from small neighborhood taprooms to larger regional producers, with each choosing how best to support schools in their own community.
