3 Sheeps Brewing Releases "Dill-ightful Derek" Pickle Pilsner At Sheboygan Taproom

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. – When the team at 3 Sheeps Brewing released "Dill-ightful Derek", a pickle pilsner inspired by the fan-favorite newcomer "Delightful" Derek Turnbow from Stranger Things Season 5, they decided to shoot their shot.

The challenge was simple:
"If you can get Jake Connelly—the actor behind Derek—or any member of the Stranger Things cast to comment on this post, we'll pour 'Dill-ightful Derek' free for a day."

The internet didn't blink.
Fans tagged, shared, and summoned the algorithm.
And then it happened.

Jake Connelly himself dropped in with a comment:
"This is awesome! Free beer for a day!!!"

A promise is a promise. To honor Derek "coming through" once again, 3 Sheeps will pour free pints of "Dill-ightful Derek" this Saturday, January 17, starting at 11am while supplies last at the taproom.

"Every once in a while you get an idea that feels too fun not to try. We figured if Wisconsin rallied hard enough to get a Stranger Things actor to comment on our post, the least we could do was make good on the promise. Jake came through, the fans came through, and now we get to pour free pickle beer. That's a win for everybody," said Grant Pauly, founder and brewmaster of 3 Sheeps Brewing.

Who's Delightful Derek

Introduced early in Season 5 as a standoffish bully, Derek Turnbow (played by actor Jake Connelly, age 14) quickly flips the narrative. After being saved by the Hawkins crew, he becomes a valuable ally—helping the team take down the upside-down's worst, cracking unexpected laughs, and becoming an integral part of the Stranger Things story. His transformation from antagonist to hero—and his now-iconic tagline, "Suck my fat one!"— made him an instant fan favorite and, apparently, beer muse.

Why a Pickle Beer?
Because when a brewery sees a pun that good, it's legally required to brew it.

This stunt is the latest chapter in 3 Sheeps' ongoing adventure to make what Wisconsin drinks—whether that's barrel-aged stouts, crispy lagers, or, every now and then, a pickle pilsner inspired by a fictional 12-year-old who helps save Hawkins, Ind.
