Austin, TX – August 21, 2025 – Hi Sign Brewing is thrilled to announce the inaugural release of its Oktoberfest Märzen Lager in cans, a classic German-style beer crafted to celebrate the rich traditions of Bavaria’s iconic festival. This release marks a milestone for Hi Sign Brewing as it brings the authentic flavors of Oktoberfest to beer enthusiasts across the greater Austin area.

The Hi Sign Oktoberfest Märzen Lager is a tribute to the time-honored Märzen style, historically brewed in March (hence the name "Märzen") and lagered through the summer for consumption during Munich’s Oktoberfest celebrations. This amber-hued lager boasts a balanced profile with a smooth, malty backbone, featuring notes of toasted bread, caramel, and subtle biscuit sweetness, complemented by a crisp, clean finish from noble German hops. At 5.8% ABV, it’s a refreshing yet flavorful beer perfect for autumn festivities.

“We’re excited to share our take on this classic German lager with our community,” said Kevin Decoud, Head Brewer at Hi Sign Brewing. “Our Märzen stays true to tradition with its rich malt character and easy-drinking nature, making it the ideal companion for toasting at our Oktoberfest Party or enjoying at home.”

Beer lovers can experience the Märzen fresh on draft at Hi Sign Brewing’s Oktoberfest Party on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the brewery located at 730 Shady Lane, Austin, TX 78702. The event will feature live Polka band, traditional German fare, and plenty of Märzen flowing from the taps. Starting next week, 12-ounce cans of Hi Sign Oktoberfest Märzen Lager will be available at select HEB retailers throughout the greater Austin area, bringing the festive spirit to homes and gatherings.

The Märzen style has deep roots in Bavarian brewing history, dating back to the 16th century when brewers crafted hearty lagers to sustain festival-goers through days of celebration. Hi Sign’s version honors this legacy while showcasing the brewery’s commitment to quality and craftsmanship.

Join us at Hi Sign Brewing to raise a glass and say “Prost!” to the season.
