FX Matt Acquires Ohza

CAMBRIDGE, MA - Ohza, the ready-to-drink mimosa and sangria brand, has been acquired by The FX Matt (Saranac) Brewery.  This acquisition marks another significant milestone in FX Matt’s ongoing expansion in the burgeoning ready-to-drink cocktail market. 


Ohza has distinguished itself by becoming one of the first and only brands in the US to create a RTD mimosa, expanding to other wine-based cocktails including sparkling red and white sangrias. Since its founding in 2019, Ohza has gained placements in locations such as Walmart, Whole Foods, Safeway, BevMo!, Gopuff, Circle K and thousands of other retailers in the US. According to Nielsen, mimosas are the most ordered cocktail on premise during the daytime, with sangria being the second most menu-featured cocktail in the US. 


Under FX Matt’s leadership, Ohza is set to expand distribution significantly. In a letter to wholesalers, FX Matt indicated it will initially focus on growing Ohza’s flagship flavors, Classic Mimosa and Fizzy Red Sangria, and lean into packaging and flavor innovations in 2025 and beyond. 


The deal follows FX Matt’s recent acquisition of ‘Merican Mule and successful integration of Flying Dog Brewery, Maryland’s largest craft brewery by volume, earlier this year.


The new addition of Ohza to FX Matt’s portfolio underscores the company’s strategic vision to broaden its reach in high-growth, emerging channels and reinforces its position as a legacy brand looking to drive innovation in new ways, FX Matt officials said. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
