Walmart Chief Merchandising and Marketing Officer to Speak at NBWA’s 76th Annual Convention and Trade Show

ALEXANDRIA, VA — The National Beer Wholesalers Association’s (NBWA) 76th Annual Convention and Trade Show will take place September 29 — October 2, 2013, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. Duncan Mac Naughton, Walmart’s executive vice president, chief merchandising and marketing officer, will address attendees on Tuesday, October 1, during the General Session.

“Walmart is making headlines for its efforts to increase beer sales,” said NBWA President & CEO Craig Purser. “We are thrilled to have Duncan Mac Naughton join us to share his insights on Walmart’s adult beverages business and discuss how local distributors can work with the retailer to grow the beer category.”

Mac Naughton joined Walmart in 2009 as chief merchandising officer for Walmart Canada, bringing more than 25 years of experience in retail and consumer packaged goods. In 2010, he moved to the U.S. business as executive vice president of merchandising. Today, McNaughton has responsibility for all aspects of merchandising, including consumables, grocery, health & wellness, softlines and general merchandise. He also is responsible for Walmart’s marketing efforts, including customer research, strategy, e-commerce marketing, private brands and customer communications.
