Report Highlights:

  • For the latest 52 weeks, there is a slight improvement in off-premise trends across all beverage alcohol compared to recent time periods. With flat dollar growth (-0.1%) and positive volume growth (+1.3%), the spirits category continues to outperform beer (dollars -1.3%) and wine (dollars -2.5%).
  • Beer dollar volume in the food channel is holding steady (-0.1%), even with slight declines in distribution (-0.9%). However, beer experienced significant dollar declines in c-store (-1.8%), possibly losing to wine and spirits (+9.5% and +8.6% respectively) in the c-store channel.
  • All 3 categories – beer, wine, and spirits – continue to experience double-digit growth in the non-alc space. Within the beer category, craft is the primary driver of non-alc growth, followed by imports.
  • Mass and grocery continue to deliver dollar growth vs YA across NA beverages, while convenience and drug have stalled and begun to contract.
