Pedal Haus Releases Rye New England-style IPA in Honor of Late Brewer

Tempe, AZ — Two acclaimed breweries have recently joined forces to support an amazing figure in the craft brew community. With the recent passing of Pedal Haus’ Assistant Brewer, Ian Campbell O’Neill in February, downtown Tempe’s Pedal Haus Brewery has released a tribute beer in his greatest honor. The “rICON,” comes from a combination of Ian’s initials “ICON”, with the “r” representing that the beer is a rye, New England IPA.

Ian was a highly talented esteemed craft brewer who passed away at the young age of 27 from a tragic motorcycle accident and with this tribute, he will continue to be cherished and remembered within the local and now, national craft beer communities.

Pedal Haus Brewery’s Beer Director, Derek “Doc” Osborne collaborated with one of Ian’s favorite breweries, Modern Times and brewer, Matt Sandoval to perfect the rICON recipe and they are wholly confident that it’s a brew that their beloved friend and industry colleague would love. It is hazy, low in bitterness and highly dry hopped for a fruity and juicy aroma, with an ABV of 6.7 and IBU of 17.8. The beer is now available for purchase at Pedal Haus Brewery for a limited time.
