Hanging Hills Collaborates with the Drive-By Truckers on Chester, Goddamnit Georgia Brown Ale

HARTFORD, Conn. — On January 26th, the Hanging Hills will release Chester, Goddamnit Georgia Brown Ale, a collaboration beer with the rock band The Drive-By Truckers. The beer is released in conjunction for their run of Homecoming shows at famed Athens, GA music venue The 40 Watt Club.

The Connecticut microbrewery is a monster fan of the Southern Rock band and so pursued this collaboration whole heartedly. The Drive-By Truckers have turned this yearly event into a fundraiser for the the musicians’ mental health advocacy non-profit, Nuci’s Space (https://www.nuci.org) and this year will be no different. Proceeds of the sale of Chester, Goddamnit will also be donated to the Athens non-profit.

The beer takes its name from a line from band leader Patterson Hood’s ode to his mother and stepfather “18 Wheels of Love”. It is a 5.7% ABV brown ale brewed with Georgia grown ingredients pecans, triticale and sorghum. Chester, Goddamnit is more complex than the style would indicate. Says founder brewer Brian Cox, “Imagine if you baked some toasted pecans into a caramel cracker. Super balanced, fresh and brown.”

Chester, Goddamnit will be released on draft and in cans at the Hanging Hills tasting room at 150 Ledyard St in Hartford, CT on January 26th at 4 PM and then starting on February 15th-17th at the 40 Watt Club for the Homecoming shows while supplies last.
