Stone Brewing Berlin Announces Collaboration Series with Dogfish Head, Maui and More

BERLIN — A Message from Greg Koch: Stone Berlin Groundbreaking Collaborations:

To my Friends in the Press,

We’ve been on an incredible journey the past three years. You may have even written about it.  Our groundbreaking move to be the first American craft brewery to build, own and operate their own brewery in Europe, and the selection of our incredible 1901 building in Berlin, Germany has been well documented. You’ve shared our retaliation against the confines of the Reinheitsgebot and celebrated the grand opening of our brewery and destination restaurant, the Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens – Berlin. Some of you even joined me over a pint in our ode, nay, temple to great beer, food and architecture! But what you quite possibly don’t know, is that simultaneously we’ve been on another journey along the way, one which tells this exact story through an inimitable, one-of-a-kind, once-in-a-lifetime series of beers.

In 2014 we made a promise that Stone would bring some of our best friends in brewing to our world class Stone Brewing – Berlin to produce epic beers for our fans. We’re delivering on that promise and I do not want you to miss out. We’ve collaborated on unique styles, employed unique ingredients, and utilized unique brewing methods. From the dream they were built upon, to the packaging and the beer that fills them, these beers are truly groundbreaking.

Seven bottles of the elite 14-part Stone Berlin Groundbreaking Collaborations series now boldly display on shelves in 1.5L and 750ml bottles.

  • Maui / Stone “Aloha! Berlin” – Imperial coconut porter
  • Dogfish Head / Victory / Stone “Royale Imperial Saison du BUFF” – Imperial farmhouse style ale brewed with parsley, sage, rosemary & lemon thyme
  • Brewdog / Stone “Super BASHAH” – Black Belgian style double IPA
  • The Lost Abby / Stone “Sticks N’ Stones” – Dark imperial pilsner finished on wood chips and partially matured in…granite
  • Drew Curtis / Wil Wheaton / Greg Koch “Züper Magik w00tstout” – Ale brewed with hazelnuts, pecans & almonds, partially aged in whiskey barrels
  • Todd Haug / Stone “ Saurer Axtmann” – überized Berliner Weisse brewed with ginger & citrus hystrix leaf

Plus a special Arrogant Brewing edition:

  • Arrogant Brewing / Baladin “In Bocca al Lupo” – A mother of an ale brewed with gentian root

So, my brothers and sisters of craft beer, I felt compelled to share with you first-hand the profound importance of these beers as a part of Stone’s and my remarkable journey across the world. We’ve recklessly gone miles, kilometers and land masses out of our way to make this a royal celebration of global craft beer. I want to personally offer you the opportunity to join me in a cheers to this international camaraderie. I’ve set aside a handful of each of these beautiful beers, and if one interest you, please, let us know. Responding ‘expeditiously’ will be the best way to ensure your first choice, although I can honestly say there are no wrong answers, as truthfully, they are all my favorite (as I state clearly in one hour, thirteen minutes and forty-seven seconds in this edge-of-your seat video https://youtu.be/zkq5-h7tzPQ). So, until my gift stash (*ahem* journalistic samples) is depleted, I’ll send a 750ml bottle out to those of you who’d like to share this journey with us.

I’m personally super proud of these beers, as they are some of our most refined beers of the decade and I look forward to you experiencing them first hand. I promise you, there is no better place to be than at the pouring end of one of these bottles.

Cheers & Happy Holidays,

Greg Koch
