- Brewpub It’s tough to pin down exactly when and how the idea to become brewers really began, so here’s the short version: the seed that became Tree Farm Brewing Company was planted about 8 years ago while brewers Josh and Jye were in college. A love affair with good beer quickly turned into some early attempts at brewing, and before the first home brewed pint was down the hatch, the notion of one day opening a brewery had been batted around. Back then, it was wishful thinking. Now, it’s happening. Tree Farm Brewing takes its name from its original location: a choose-and-cut Christmas tree farm in Navasota owned by Josh’s parents and lovingly referred to as the "Tree Farm" by friends and family. The brewery’s aesthetic was born of many long brewing days at the Tree Farm, listening to our favorite albums and carefully crafting each batch. The occasional beer was consumed in the process. The brewery recently relocated to College Station and, on December 27, 2013, the brewers premiered a small batch India Pale Ale (IPA) as their first official beer at Briarcrest Country Club. The IPA is representative of the hop-forward beers that are the brewers’ favorite, but their line-up is also set to include batches of American Wheat, Blonde, and Pale ales.The goal with each batch is to create a beer that is flavorful and aromatic, but also finely balanced and approachable. Different styles will be explored, tediously perfected and, in the end, there will be something tasty for everyone to enjoy; whether you favor a quaffable American wheat or a bright, citrusy IPA, Tree Farm will have something to show you. For the guys in charge at Tree Farm, brewing must be a balance between respecting all great beers that have come before and trying, humbly, to grow the canon. We don’t take this job lightly—it is our self-expression, our art. We hope to share it with you regularly!
