Sixpoint Brewery founder Shane Welch is making innovation the “primary focus” of the Brooklyn craft brewery heading into 2018. In order to foster that spirit of innovation, Sixpoint formed a new product development team in August, and hired Eric Bachli as the “chief product officer.”
As part of Sixpoint’s ongoing commitment to innovation and continuous improvement, the Mad Scientists have developed a first-of-its-kind native mobile app. The app will enable Sixpoint customers to purchase beer directly from the brewery.
In our latest edition of People Moves: Caitlin Braam, the president of Seattle Cider Company and Two Beers Brewing, will depart the organization at the end of the month. Constellation Brands also confirmed that Dave Mills, chief sales officer of the company’s Ballast Point Brewing & Spirits brand, will depart the organization at the end of August.
Sixpoint Brewery is amped to announce the formation of a new Product Development team dedicated to taking innovation, R&D, and Mad Science to the next level. To lead that initiative, Sixpoint has signed on Eric Bachli, Dipl. Brew as Chief Product Officer. Bachli is coming to Sixpoint from Trillium Brewery out of Boston, MA, where he was the Head Brewer, leading all aspects of brewing operations.
The smash hit Broadway musical, WAITRESS is the latest Broadway show to create a craft beer for charity and partner with The Broadway Brews Project.
Another craft-focused contract brewing operation has entered the fray. Great Central Brewing Company (GCBC) broke ground on a new 32,000 sq. ft. contract brewing facility in Chicago last week. Scheduled for a summer 2016 opening, the brewery joins a growing list of craft-minded contract facilities established to help other small producers scale up, instead of focusing on their own in-house labels.

Sixpoint Brewery has published a short documentary film to coincide with the company’s most recent beer release, 3Beans. 3Beans – a 10 percent ABV ale brewed with Romano beans, Cacao beans and cold-brewed coffee – is a collaborative effort between Sixpoint and two other Brooklyn-based companies, Stumptown Coffee and Mast Brothers Chocolate.
