Brewery Ommegang is proud to announce the release of Sirens’ Song, a dark ale brewed with figs and raisins and the brewery’s latest limited edition offering. Named for the enchanting melodies that fabled sirens used to lure in weary sailors, 9% ABV Sirens’ Song will draw in beer fans to explore uncharted imbibing territory.
Many within Boulevard Brewing Company believed Jeff Krum was preparing for retirement. Krum, Duvel USA’s vice president of corporate affairs and a 22-year Boulevard veteran, had spent 18 months months away from the brewery’s day-to-day operations after being assigned to complete special projects, such as a new visitors center and beer hall, which opened in July on Kansas City, Missouri’s Westside.
Simon Thorpe, the president of Duvel Moortgat USA, has resigned and will be replaced by Jeff Krum, who currently serves as Boulevard Brewing’s vice president of corporate affairs. Thorpe, who has served as the president and CEO of Duvel USA since 2009, will continue in an advisory capacity through the end of August, the company said.

Duvel Moortgat USA today announced it has hired former Diageo marketing veteran Doug Campbell as the new president of Brewery Ommegang. In a press release, the company said Campbell would “oversee the day-to-day operations at the Cooperstown brewery” and “spearhead all marketing initiatives for Brewery Ommegang.” Current marketing director Bill Wetmore is leaving to pursue other opportunities, the company noted.
Brewery Ommegang, located in Brew Central, is once again shining the spotlight on local hop farmers with its 2016 edition of Hopstate NY, an all-NYS hops beer. Brewed in tribute and to raise awareness for local hop farmers breathing life back into the state’s hop industry, this year’s Hopstate NY is an American amber ale brewed with rye, and of course, a healthy amount of hops exclusively sourced from Empire State farmers. The beer will be available on draft and in six-packs, starting in early July.
