Upstate New York neighbors Brewery Ommegang in Cooperstown and Beekman 1802 farm and mercantile in Sharon Springs have taken seats at the table together to collaborate on a variety of projects this year, including two new beers. The companies, who enjoy a shared sense of a dedication to their craft and to the artisanal farmstead, are excited to share those values with neighbors as they introduce this series of products and events.
2018 is a year of expansion for Brewery Ommegang. The brewery is introducing a variety of new beers and undertaking a major renovation of the visitors’ center. Now, Ommegang is thrilled to announce the installation and commissioning of a new canning line and the launch of the brewery’s first on-site-only can release, the New England-style IPA Neon Rainbows, which to-date has been available only in very limited quantities on draft.
Beer and wine drinkers alike will want to “rosé all day” with Ommegang’s refreshing new ale, Saison Rosé. A blend of saisons, one aged on oak, the other brewed with hibiscus flowers and co-fermented with chardonnay grape juice, Saison Rosé is fruity, tart, dry, and incredibly quaffable. This lovely pale red beer will arrive just in time for summer.
In an effort to further establish itself in the high end craft beer category, Kansas City’s Boulevard Brewing Co. will launch a new line of premium-priced beers in the third quarter of this year, Duvel USA executives told Brewbound.
Brewery Ommegang is pleased to announce the release of a new beer this month: Double Barrel Dubbel, a beautiful blend of traditional Belgian-style dubbel aged in bourbon and brandy casks.
Queen of the Seven Kingdoms, the second in a series of four special, limited release beers, each designed and brewed as an homage to one of four epic figures in the battle for the Seven Kingdoms, is brewed and blended for Cersei Lannister.
Brewery Ommegang has broken ground on an extensive expansion of their onsite visitors’ center, upgrading all facets of the facility to enable the brewery to better accommodate the surging crowds of beer tourists that flock to the area. The renovations began just before the holidays and will be completed by the start of the 2018 summer season.
Candi Stout fuses rich roasted malts with Belgian candi sugar, bittersweet cocoa nibs, and a special strain of Belgian ale yeast.
As cooler weather settles in on the northeast, Brewery Ommegang is pleased to introduce their latest limited edition brew: Ommegang Smoked Porter. This nod to a traditional English beer is brewed with subtle additions of smoked malt and a touch of Saaz hops to add additional depth and character to an otherwise traditional English brew.
Brewery Ommegang is proud to release their 20th Anniversary Ale, a luxurious Belgian-style dark ale aged for more than five months in bourbon barrels. Brewery Ommegang was founded in 1997 on a 140-acre former hop farm with a simple goal in mind – brew beautiful, imaginative Belgian-style ales blended with a touch of American innovation.
A growing number of beer companies are turning to digital rebate programs to boost volume sales and gain consumer insights as competition for off-premise business intensifies amongst breweries. The most well-known smartphone-enabled rebate program for alcoholic beverage manufacturers is run by Colorado-headquartered Ibotta, Inc.
