- Colorado Native Lager is made w/ 100% Colorado ingredients. Love our beer as much as we do? Join the Brew Crew: http://coloradonativelager.com Colorado Native Lager is the only lager brewed with barley grown in the San Luis Valley, Rocky Mountain water, 100% Colorado-grown hops and the oldest variety of brewing yeast in the state. Other breweries buy the majority of their barley from out-of-state malt houses. Most other beers brewed in Colorado use hops from Yakima, Washington, Germany and New Zealand. By using only Colorado-grown hops we are not only supporting the Colorado agriculture community, we have also, almost single handedly created a market for Colorado-grown hops and a new category of agriculture for Colorado farmers. We do not ship brewing ingredients into the state, our bottles are made in Wheat Ridge, our cans are made in Golden and we do not sell our beer outside the state……..all of this adds up to a smaller carbon footprint and a great tasting all-Colorado beer. Thanks for supporting the barley growers and hop farmers of Colorado. When you drink Colorado Native, you are not only supporting a local Colorado brewery, you are also supporting the barley growers in the San Luis Valley and the Colorado hop growers. Hell, even our bottles are made in Wheat Ridge and our cans are made in Golden. HOPS 100% of the hops in Colorado Native beer are purchased from these eleven Colorado hop growers. We believe the majority of the hops grown in Colorado are used to brew Colorado Native Lager. The only exception is the one brew we make with “Volunteer Hop Growers harvest”; we have sent hop rhizomes to 1,400 volunteer hop growers during the past 3 years. YEAST Native is fermented using a uniquely American descendant of a Tuborg style strain with a one of a kind chromosome fingerprint. It is the oldest known strain of brewing yeast in Colorado, first introduced into Colorado shortly after the end of the Prohibition in the 1930s from a brewery in Munich, Germany, and has been in continuous use, in Colorado, ever since. WATER Our water is from the Rocky Mountains. Take a minute to join our Colorado Native Brew Crew; we would love to have you as a member. http://coloradonativelager.com/brew-crew/
