Prost Brewing Co.’s highly anticipated spring celebration, Maifest, and its warm-weather seasonal bier, Maibock, return next month on Saturday, May 4. Mark your calendars to join Prost’s Maifest celebrations at its biergartens across Colorado, with the flagship event taking place at its newly opened 10,000 sq. ft. biergarten in Northglenn.

Maifest is a traditional German festival marking the arrival of spring. Rooted in ancient pagan traditions, it has evolved into a lively celebration featuring colorful parades, live music, traditional dances around the Maypole, and plenty of food and drink.

Prost will kick off Maifest with the release of their renowned Maibock on May 1. This 8% ABV German-style Pale Bock is brewed specially for Maifest. German-inspired and Colorado-crafted, Prost’s Maibock embodies balance, with lemongrass and toasted hazelnut malt flavor and moderate bitterness showcased by its German hop selection. Like all of Prost’s award-winning biergarten-style biers, its Maibock is made with hand-selected malt, hops, and yeast sourced from Germany and is crafted through the patient process of slow lagering.

“Our Maibock is a combination of old-world techniques with new-world brewing equipment that has resulted in a one-of-a-kind experience,” said Prost President David Deline. “It is an authentic representation of German culture, brewed for a Colorado celebration of this spring-time German holiday. We are ecstatic to bring our annual Prost Maifest to Northglenn this year and cannot wait to celebrate bier lovers across the Front Range.”

Prost’s Northglenn, Highlands Ranch, and Lohi Biergartens will each host Maifest on May 4. Each location will feature a ceremonial keg tapping of Maibock to mark the special occasion, along with live music, and traditional Maifest activities. A curated menu of traditional German fare will also be available, including schnitzel, bratwurst sausages, authentic pretzels, and warm apple strudel.
