3 Floyds Releases Corn King IPA At Members-Only Parties In Indiana

One of country's most unique beers--3 Floyds Corn King IPA--to be released next week at members-only parties

Indianapolis, IN – Starting next Monday, craft beer enthusiasts will have access to one of the most unique beers in the world through the IN Beer Brigade, the first membership program of its kind in the nation.

Led by the Brewers of Indiana Guild, Corn King IPA was brewed by Munster’s 3 Floyds Brewing in collaboration with breweries from across Northwest Indiana. The hoppy 74 IBU, 7.3% ABV beer features crisp citrus notes and a smooth finish thanks to locally grown corn malted by Sugar Creek Malt Co. of Lebanon, IN.

The beer is only available at release parties around the state in October and will not be sold in stores or at 3 Floyds. The first members-only release party takes place Monday, October 3 at 18th Street Brewing’s Hammond, IN facility.

Premium-level members of the IN Beer Brigade will receive two complimentary 22 oz. “bomber” bottles of the beer for carryout and a Drink Indiana Beer die-cast bottle opener, and all members will be able to purchase pints of the beer at the events and receive a commemorative members-only pint glass, t-shirt, and other benefits throughout the year.

Proceeds directly benefit the mission of the Brewers of Indiana Guild, the non-profit trade association that represents the state’s fast-growing brewing industry through legislation and promotion. The Guild has led efforts to legalize Sunday carryout of beer from breweries across the state, co-owns Tomlinson Tap Room, and has developed the Drink Indiana Beer app and DrinkIN magazine while holding some of the state’s biggest and longest running beer festivals.

“This project truly is by brewers, for brewers. It’s been a lot of fun, and we’re looking forward to continuing to connect brewers, producers, local beer lovers, and affiliated businesses through the IN Beer Brigade in future years,” said Rob Caputo, Brewers of Indiana Guild Executive Director and Cofounder of Flat12 Bierwerks in Indianapolis.

Indianapolis’s Sun King Brewing Company will host the 2017 collaboration brew with fellow Central Indiana brewers, and Upland Brewing Co. will host the 2018 collaboration, a sour beer, with South Central Indiana brewers.

Memberships starting at $40 are available online now at www.brigade.beer and will be sold at the door of each event, though the complimentary carryout is not guaranteed for premium members who sign up at the door. Multi-year premium memberships are also available, allowing enthusiasts to save money while ensuring complimentary carryout at future years’ events.
