Angel City Brewery Releasing Avocado Ale in Cans

Los Angeles, CA — Five years ago, Angel City Brewery debuted Avocado Ale at their first annual Avocado Festival. Legend has it that the festival was so #Avocadope that the LA demand for avocado toast climbed to new heights. Regardless of what’s believed, the fact that Angel City Brewery’s Avocado Fest is back and bigger than ever is 100% truth. The Brewery invites Angelenos to the fifth annual Avocado Festival, a two-day celebration of all things avocado on August 5th and 6th from 11 am to 8 pm. New this year, for those looking to get Avocado Ale early, Angel City will be selling 4-packs of 16oz cans beginning Friday, August 4th at 4 pm.

Avocado Ale is a creamy Kölsch-style beer brewed once a year from avocados hand picked from family owned King & King Ranch located in Filmore, CA. After the avocados are sliced, avocado honey, cilantro, and lime juice are mashed together utilizing the brewery’s own “Dry-Guac” technique. Cans of this deliciously hazy, straw-colored beer have an ABV of 4.2%. Due to the fresh ingredients, drinkers are encouraged to sip their cans of Avocado Ale sooner rather than later because this beer has a short shelf-life.

This year’s Avocado Fest will be a two-day event featuring live music, an artist bazaar, Avocado Beer cocktails, a cake from Charm City Cakes, local food trucks, games and more, all in celebration of California’s state fruit.

The Ron Finley Project’s mission is to make South Central LA into a well-balanced, fruit-and-veggie oasis and ignite a Horti-cultural Revolution. A dollar from every pint of Avocado Ale sold inside the brewery over the course of the two days will go toward supporting The Ron Finley Project.

“Avocado Fest grows every year with more and more folks flocking downtown to enjoy our Avocado Ale, so we decided to embrace it this year by extending it to two days, with a first-ever pre-release of Avocado Ale in cans on Friday,” says Angel City Brewery’s Marketing & Events Specialist, Keith Ely. “With the beer growing in popularity and Angel City’s new brewery exclusive canning program, this was the perfect opportunity to make Avocado Ale more accessible for our fans.”
