The iconic fall favorite returns in a new NA version without sacrificing the flavor fans know and love.

PORTLAND, MAINE — Shipyard Brewing Company is expanding one of craft beer's most recognizable seasonal brands with the launch of Pumpkinhead NA, a non-alcoholic version of its iconic Pumpkinhead Ale. Brewed with less than 0.5% ABV, Pumpkinhead NA delivers the same signature pumpkin spice character and smooth drinkability that has made Pumpkinhead a fall tradition for millions of drinkers.

"Pumpkinhead has been part of our story for more than 25 years," said Fred Forsley, Owner of Shipyard Brewing Company. "As more consumers reach for non-alcoholic options, we've heard one request over and over: make a Pumpkinhead NA. We took our time because we wanted to make sure it tasted like the real thing. We think our fans are going to love it."

First poured in 1997 at Federal Jack's Brewpub in Kennebunk, Maine, Pumpkinhead quickly became one of America's best-selling craft seasonal beers after launching in packages in 2002. Today, it remains one of the defining beers of the fall season. After 2+ years of research and development, Shipyard is ready to release a non-alcoholic version of the iconic brew. To recreate the original experience, Shipyard preserved Pumpkinhead's signature balance of pumpkin spice, cinnamon, and nutmeg while maintaining the carbonation, body, and mouthfeel that fans expect. The beer contains less than 0.5% ABV, allowing it to retain the flavor profile that made the original famous.

Pumpkinhead NA arrives in stores beginning August 3 in 6-pack cans, joining Shipyard's complete fall lineup, including Pumpkinhead Ale (4.5% ABV) and Smashed Pumpkin (9.0% ABV). The launch will roll out across 18 states, with availability at independent retailers, grocery stores, and national chains including Total Wine & More. Consumers can find the nearest retailer using Shipyard's Beer Finder at shipyard.com/beer-finder.

Shipyard began as Kennebunkport Brewing Company, underneath Federal Jack’s brewpub, started by owner Fred Forsley.
