Kentucky Beers Unveil a New Bourbon Barrel Toasted Stout to Start the Year

Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co., the only brewery and distillery on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail®, announces its latest beer release this week with nationwide availability for its Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Toasted Stout – 10% abv. (SRP $15.99 / 4pk Bottles). This is a limited seasonal release beer.

New Year. New Beer. New Market

A new year brings fresh hopes, ambitions, and celebrations – and in this case, a new beer. Introducing Kentucky® Bourbon Barrel Toasted Stout (10% ABV), a bold expression that unites the richness of bourbon barrels with the depth of a robust stout. The result is a layered sensory experience, offering aromas of toasted oak, vanilla, toasted marshmallow, and roasted malt. Born in bourbon and forged into something new, this stout delivers a familiar heritage with a distinct, modern twist.

The arrival of the New Year also marks entry into a new market, as Kentucky® beers will officially become available in Missouri beginning in late January. Missouri is the final bordering state to the Commonwealth of Kentucky to welcome the brand, making this expansion a fitting New Year's milestone.

"Missouri has been on our radar for quite some time," said Robert Krass, Managing Director. "We receive requests from consumers, retailers, and bars in the state every year, but finding the right distribution partner was not something we wanted to rush. Partnering with Breakthru Beverage Missouri, one of the largest statewide providers of premium beverage alcohol, was an easy decision. Like us, they are family-owned and operated which is something we value deeply."

Distribution will begin in late January, with the full portfolio of Kentucky® beers, including all flagship beers, seasonals, limited releases and an assortment of draft options available to the market immediately.

The Secret Sauce of Kentucky

When consumers think of bourbon barrel–aged beer, chances are you might be thinking of Kentucky® Bourbon Barrel Ale®—the beer of bourbon country for more than 20 years and still one of the most widely distributed and enjoyed barrel-aged beers on the market today.

As thoughts naturally turn from barrel-aged beer to Kentucky bourbon itself, perhaps even the latest bottle added to a personal collection – it's worth noting that this brewery is directly connected to Town Branch Distillery and thus the Kentucky Bourbon Trail®, the region responsible for nearly 95% of the world's bourbon production.

A lesser-known element of the brewery's continued success is its registered trademark on the word Kentucky® for beer packaging, allowing the brand to resonate with consumers far beyond the state's borders.   • ABV: 10.0% abv/ 20 Proof

    • Cellar Temperature: 42-degrees Fahrenheit
    • Barrel Type: Freshly decanted Kentucky Bourbon Barrels
  • Tasting Notes:
    • Appearance: Opaque midnight black with a cappuccino-like head
    • Aroma: Bourbon, chocolate malt, toasted marshmallow, espresso, vanilla, caramel, and subtle black currant
    • Palate: Dark chocolate and vanilla upfront, followed by toasted marshmallow, roasted malts, moderate sweetness, and a light bittersweet edge
    • Finish: Medium-bodied, warming with dry roasted notes, gentle char, toasted malt, and a lightly gripping texture for a smooth, lingering finish
