New York, October 2025 – Sandeman Porto, the world-renowned Port house celebrated for its legacy and vintage diversity, proudly announces the release of one of its most treasured vintages: Sandeman 2000.

The year 2000 began with a dry winter and mild spring, setting the stage for a balanced budbreak. April and May brought rain and cooler weather, encouraging healthy growth, while a mild summer and late-season thunderstorms ensured water reserves for harmonious ripening. The result? An extraordinary harvest, masterfully shaped by Sandeman's expert blending and aging techniques.

Now, 25 years later, Sandeman 2000 Vintage Port emerges as a wine of striking depth, evolved with remarkable complexity and elegance. It is a living homage to the harmony of the 2000 growing season, marked by vibrant acidity, freshness, and a layered profile that continues to unfold with time.

"Sandeman 2000 Vintage Port is a testament to the generosity of time and the mastery of our winemaking team," says Luís Sottomayor, Director of Oenology at Sogrape, overseeing Douro and Port wines. "A Vintage is only declared in years of exceptional quality. Crafting one is about patience, waiting for the perfect balance of nature and fruit. The 2000 delivers a complex aroma of spices, lavender, cedar, and tobacco, with volume and elegance that linger on the palate."

The wine reveals a vivid brick hue with ruby glints. Its bouquet layers spices, lavender, cedar, tobacco box, violets, and ripe red fruits, accented by subtle medicinal nuances born from long bottle aging. On the palate, it is structured yet fresh, with lively acidity, polished tannins, and a finish of exceptional length and refinement.

With limited bottles in circulation, Sandeman 2000 Vintage Port is offered at select retailers nationwide for $125 in the U.S. market. While it is a collector's treasure, Sandeman believes every vintage shines brightest when shared: around a table of family and friends, in celebration of life's milestones, joys, and the passage of time.
