Seattle, WA – Ghostfish Brewing proudly announces the release of a new beer in collaboration with TWØBAYS Brewing Co. from Melbourne, Australia. This exciting project marks the first global collaboration between two dedicated gluten free breweries.

The beer is a ‘Pacific Ale’, an Australian-style pale ale that is low in bitterness but big on aromas of tropical fruit and citrus.

“This collaboration project was long overdue.” explains Ghostfish Brewing Co-Founder/Co-Owner Brian Thiel. “I vividly recall the day Richard walked into Ghostfish back in 2017 and announced he intended to open a dedicated gluten free brewery in Australia. We’ve watched TWØBAYS Brewing’s growth over the past 8 years with great interest and celebrated their back-to-back World Beer Cup Gold Medals the past two years. It was a no-brainer when Richard reached out to discuss an opportunity to create a beer together”.

“I loved Ghostfish beers from the moment I walked into their Taproom in 2017, so when we had an opportunity to get an Aussie beer on tap at a new Australian owned bar in New York called Old Mates, I gave Brian a call and said how about doing something together. Pacific Ale is a classic Aussie beer style, and we are sure it will be loved by beer lovers in the US as much as it is down under.”, said TWØBAYS Brewing’s CEO and Founder Richard Jeffares.

Pacific Ale is a uniquely Australian beer style, an evolution of the American Summer Ale featuring Australian Galaxy hops. Low bitterness, easy drinking and a fruity hop forward profile, it’s exactly the kind of beer you want in your hand while watching the ocean. For this collaboration, we wanted to bring hops from both sides of the Pacific, so we added in Citra Cryo hops to bring some Pacific Northwest flair to a classic Australian beer style.

Pacific Ale is currently available on draft and in 4-pack 12oz cans inside Ghostfish Brewing’s Seattle-based taproom and Old Mates Pub in New York, NY. Future plans may include a broader distribution footprint of Pacific Ale.

The playful can label features subtle, yet recognizable features from both hemispheres and each brewery’s home country. Pacific Ale features big fruity hop flavors from Australian Galaxy, New Zealand Nelson Sauvin, and Citra Cryo hops. Brewed with premium gluten free malts, this 4.0% ale boasts flavors of pineapple, citrus, passionfruit with a crisp malt character.

About TWØBAYS Brewing Co. After being diagnosed with Coeliac Disease in 2015, Richard Jeffares set out on a mission – hellbent on making sure every person avoiding gluten (over 18) could have access to great gluten free beer. From the moment Richard walked into Ghostfish Brewing Company in Seattle in 2017 he knew he had to bring this experience to Australia - a dedicated gluten free brewery with a taproom too. The brewery first opened its doors in December 2018 and has quickly established itself as Australia’s leading 100% gluten free brewery. Importing the world's finest gluten free malts to Australia from the USA has been integral to their success. TWØBAYS were recently awarded World Beer Cup Gold for best gluten free beer in 2024 (Session Ale) and 2025 (Pacific Ale).
