This winter we turned to the dark side… *gasp!*, but don’t worry it wasn’t that dark side. Instead, we elected to visit the wonderful world of dark lagers with our first seasonal of 2025, Midnight Mariachi. Utilizing our incredible Mexican-style lager Alterado as a tried and true foundation, our brew team added carafa roasted malt to the mash to add a slightly roasty character to the finished product. The result is subtle union of light and dark, simplicity and complexity. It’s the perfect beer for lager drinkers that want just a little bit more during these chilly months.
Midnight Mariachi is on tap and available in 4-packs at all 3 Alter locations. You can also find it at a variety of craft beer purveyors throughout the Chicagoland area.

Alter Brewing Company opened their original Downers Grove, IL facility in December 2015, a second brewery and restaurant in nearby St. Charles, IL in 2020, and a restaurant with Solera in Oak Brook, IL in late 2022.
