Independence Brewing Co. Celebrates Milestone with 20th Anniversary IPA Release

Austin, Texas – October 23, 2024 – In celebration of two decades in the craft beer industry, Austin’s Independence Brewing Company is launching a limited-edition 20th Anniversary IPA, available statewide in Texas.

“We wanted to develop something special as a way of saying thanks to all of the people who have supported us over the last 20 years,” said Amy Cartwright, Founder and President of Independence Brewing Co.  “Blending pilsner malts and lager yeast, with Mosaic and Simcoe hops, fermented at ale temps, we’re excited to share a lighter-bodied IPA that shines with citrus aroma and flavor.”

Despite a challenging craft beer landscape, 2024 has been a year of growth for Independence Brewing, with sales volume up 2% year to date, driven by flagship brands like Stash IPA (+3%) and Austin Amber (+9%). Independence debuted a lightened-up version of their popular Native Texan Pilsner, the 4% abv Native Light Lager, in grocery stores including Texas-based HEB.  

“As we embark on our 20th year, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on this milestone by brewing a beer worthy of celebrating with all the friends we've met along the way. Channeling the words of Lewis Carroll – All that is really worth doing in life is what we do for others. For us, that's crafting beers that create moments of joy and memories,” said Cartwright.  “And while we are excited to work on special releases like this, we are grateful that our original beers continue to grow.”
