Kentucky® Liars & Lambs Raspberry Brown Ale

25th Anniversary Limited Release

5 Years Aged ¦ Available in Kentucky Only ¦ Barrel Proof

LEXINGTON, Ky., October 3, 2024— Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co., the only brewery and distillery on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail®, announces its highly limited 25th Anniversary brew, exclusively available in the Commonwealth of Kentucky: Kentucky® Liars & Lambs Raspberry Brown Ale (Draft Only). This unique release notoriously blurs the lines between beer and bourbon to create something very rare.

Kentucky® Liars & Lambs Raspberry Brown Ale – 10.6% abv

Born into obscurity, this unique imperial brown ale was initially crafted to emulate a highly sought-after Midwest regional brew with the idea to then age in freshly decanted bourbon barrels. However, the brew was misdiagnosed and placed into hiding, lost among the many barrel-aged creations cellared at Lexington. Without any such evidence to prove its existence, all was forgotten.

Fast forward several years to early Spring 2024, a casual conversation sparked the idea for something extraordinary to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co. in October 2024. From that conversation emerged the discovery of 15 barrels of this imperial brown ale, which had been quietly maturing for over five years. A sensory panel sample revealed that it had aged remarkably well, the decision was made on the spot to bring this forgotten gem to life for our anniversary celebration.  Liars & Lambs represents a beer that truly transcends traditional beer with an extended resting period and then presented at barrel proof.

Be on the lookout for this exceptional beer throughout Kentucky. With only 120 Slim barrels produced— that is just enough for only one tap handle per county—this is a limited release you won’t want to miss. Once it’s gone, it’s gone!  Cheers to 25 years of craftsmanship and community. Join us for the unveiling if you are in Kentucky.

About the Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co.:

Located in Lexington, Ky., Lexington Brewing Co. began in 1890 and was revitalized in 1999 by the late Dr. Pearse Lyons and his son Dr. Mark Lyons as Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co.  Dr. Pearse Lyons was a visionary Irish entrepreneur and scientist with a master’s degree in brewing and a Ph.D. in yeast fermentation. Lyons also founded Alltech, a global animal health and nutrition company. Today, both businesses are led by his son, Dr. Mark Lyons, who represents the seventh generation of the Lyons family to be in the brewing, distilling and cooperage industry.  Lexington Brewing & Distilling is home to the world-renowned Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale® and Town Branch Distillery, a member of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail®. Every emptied barrel is sustainably upcycled from the distillery to the brewery to produce world-class beer and spirits.

About Kentucky® Barrel-Aged Beers:

The Kentucky® range of beers by Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co., the only brewery and distillery on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail® focuses on the art of barrel-aging beer as one of the largest barrel-aged beer brands in the world.  With its easy access to freshly decanted Kentucky Bourbon barrels and its inclusion as 1 of 18 Kentucky Bourbon Trail® Distilleries (Town Branch Distillery), Lexington capitalizes on the freshness of the barrel to create a style of barrel-aged beer unlike any other brewery in America.  It crafts the world-renowned Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale®, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Imperial Milk Stout, Kentucky Vanilla Barrel Cream Ale, Kentucky Pumpkin Barrel Ale and an assortment of Kentucky® Barrel-Aged Seasonal/Specialty releases.
