Chilly Hollow Brewing Company’s Head Brewer Begins Crafting Excellence in Berryville
Chris Jacques, a brewing veteran with over two decades of experience, joins the team at the new family-owned and operated Chilly Hollow Brewing Company as Head Brewer, catalyzing anticipation for its fall 2024 grand opening.
BERRYVILLE, VA – The highly anticipated farm brewery, Chilly Hollow Brewing Company, has marked a significant milestone today with the commencement of their esteemed Head Brewer, Chris Jacques. Nestled among the rolling hills of an operating cattle farm in Berryville, Virginia, Chilly Hollow Brewing Company promises to deliver a unique blend of agricultural heritage and craft brewing innovation to Clarke County.
With an official opening slated for later this year in the fall, the brewery is set to infuse the rich Northern Virginia brewing landscape with the agritourism experience of an operating cattle farm combined with the skillful artistry of Chris Jacques. Jacques brings a wealth of experience and a passion for excellence, having been in the business of brewing chemically perfect beer for over 20 years.
“We are thrilled to welcome Chris to the Chilly Hollow Brewing family,” said Shannon Dulaney, one of four owners of the new brewery and the decades-old cattle farm on which it’s located. “His expertise and dedication to the craft of brewing aligns perfectly with our vision of creating exceptional beer that showcases the bounty, beauty, and value of our farmland.”
Jacques brings a proven track record of success in the brewing industry to Chilly Hollow Brewing Company, having most recently served as Head Brewer at Quattro Goombas in Aldie, Virginia. Jacques’ impressive and award-winning background includes roles at John Harvard’s Brewery & Ale House, Harpoon Brewery, Rock Bottom, Ornery Beer Company, and Lost Rhino Brewing Company. Upon stepping into his role this week, anticipation for Chilly Hollow Brewing Company’s opening continues to build among both locals and Jacques’ brewing peers from states away.
“Opportunities like this are a brewer’s dream. Getting the chance to build our brews as the brewhouse itself being built is an electrifying feeling,” said Jacques. “It’s going to be fun. I’m so excited to be a part of the Chilly family and I look forward to sharing many a pint with the local community and beyond this fall.”
Jacques joins a team of four founders with deep connections to Chilly Hollow Road, the namesake and location of the brewery, and deep roots in Clarke County. Chilly Hollow Brewing strives to become not only a destination for outstanding beer but also a cornerstone of local prosperity that will enrich the lives of locals and showcase the beauty and value of farmland to the greater Shenandoah Valley and Washington D.C. metro areas.
Chilly Hollow Brewing Company’s future home includes a 3,100 square foot brewhouse, a 4,800 square foot taproom, and over 4,000 square feet of covered porch overlooking expansive cow fields and mountain views.
