Atlanta-based New Realm Brewing Company hosted a grand opening celebration for the award-winning brewery’s fifth location. The brewery is located at 912 South Main Street in Greenville’s West End District and is now open seven days a week. After an extensive renovation and addition to the historic building, New Realm’s leadership team was joined by Greenville Mayor Knox White and Greenville Drive Owner Craig Brown at a barrel tapping event to mark the official opening.

“We are incredibly excited to be a part of the wonderful Greenville community, and to house our brewery inside of the iconic Cigar Warehouse is something special,” said Carey Falcone, CEO and co-founder of New Realm. “The same commitment and attention to detail we bring to creating our award-winning beers also goes into our hand-crafted cocktails and our thoughtful, locally sourced menu from our new scratch kitchen. We can’t wait to welcome guests to this new location.”

In addition to its lineup of world-class beers, the new location features a full-service 300-seat multi-level restaurant featuring locally-sourced scratch food and handmade cocktails made with flagship and special release spirits to highlight regional flavors and ingredients. The fully renovated 11,000-square-foot interior includes a barrel-aging brewery, scratch kitchen, multiple bars, event spaces and a speakeasy. The fun environment offers a spacious beer garden, live music, indoor and outdoor dining and much more. The second phase of the buildout will focus on the railside deck, patio awning, fireplace and stage.

Brewing creativity and innovation are the focus at the Greenville location. The team has been collecting interesting barrels and will use unique ingredients including local fruits and herbs for a wide variety of beers including mixed culture fermentations, barrel-aged strong beers, traditional and historic wood-aged beers (English, Belgian and German), Belgian and American sour styles and fruited beers.

The brewery is equipped with four American white oak foeders for aging and fermentation, stainless-steel tanks for fermentation, blending and packaging, a fruit addition tank, a coolship for starting natural fermentations, many oak barrels for aging and fermentation, and four serving tanks in the main bar area. The first beers expected for release include a wood-aged Belgian Saison, a Belgian Triple, a batch of seasonal favorite Oaxaca Choca aged in a foeder and a series of Czech Pilsners fermented and aged in oak.

The New Realm Greenville brewery is led by world-famous Brewmaster Mitch Steele and Chief Operating Officer Brian Faivre, with South Carolina native Luke DesJardins as on-site lead brewer. Executive Chef Josh Wight brings over 12 years of culinary expertise to the Greenville location following worldwide experience in France and Argentina, and opening multiple restaurants across the U.S.

New Realm’s flagship beers include Hazy Like a Fox IPA, Kickflipper West Coast IPA, Psychedelic Rabbit and Tank Dog. The brewery also has successful partnerships with the American rock band Blackberry Smoke in addition to Auburn University, Georgia Tech and Old Dominion University. New Realm also brews Rallyville Lager in partnership with the Greenville Drive, a minor league baseball team affiliated with the Boston Red Sox. In addition to Greenville and the brewer’s flagship location in Atlanta, the company also has locations in Auburn, Alabama; Charleston, South Carolina, and Virginia Beach, Virginia.

“More beer in more places is a good thing,” said Falcone. “We looked for a location in Greenville for over four years. We appreciate everyone who helped us make this location a reality, and we look forward to being a part of the Greenville community for many years to come.”
