HOUSTON, Texas-- Anheuser-Busch and Silver Eagle Distributors Houston delivered one truckload – more than 51,700 cans – of emergency drinking water to local communities in Montgomery County to aid in recovery efforts from the recent heavy rains and subsequent flooding. The delivery is in response to requests from the American Red Cross to help communities impacted by these catastrophic events.

As safety is the foremost and primary concern, Anheuser-Busch and Silver Eagle Distributors Houston took action to ensure communities in the region are safe.

“The heavy rains and subsequent flooding in parts of our trade area have devasted and displaced many families,” said John Johnson, president of Silver Eagle Houston. “We’re honored to be a part of Anheuser-Busch’s emergency drinking water program with the American Red Cross and aid in this relief effort.”

The canned water was delivered on Saturday, May 11th, to Conroe, Texas, where Silver Eagle Houston will work with the American Red Cross to distribute the water to those in need.

The water was sourced from Anheuser-Busch’s brewery in Fort Collins, Colorado, which periodically pauses beer production to can emergency drinking water to be ready to help communities in times of disaster.

Anheuser-Busch has a longstanding tradition of providing emergency drinking water and supplies for disaster relief efforts in partnership with the American Red Cross, dating back to 1906. Since 1988, Anheuser-Busch and its wholesaler partners have provided more than 90 million cans of water to U.S. communities affected by natural disasters and other crises nationwide.
