TUCSON, Ariz.-- Barrio Brewing Co, Arizona’s oldest craft brewery and 100%
Employee-Owned, will celebrate thirty-three years of brewing craft beer for
Arizona with an anniversary party on May 1st at its 16th
St. location.
“We have been very fortunate to have had community support from day one. We also have amazing team members who are passionate about Barrio and strive to create memorable experiences for our guests, whether it be in our taproom, home or other establishments,” said Jaime Dickman, Barrio Brewing Co.’s Chief Operating Officer. “We consider it a privilege to serve this community and look forward to many more years of continuing to do so.”
At the forefront of their anniversary celebration is the release of their new Hop Graffiti IPA, a tropical IPA that blends the vibrant essence of tropical and stone fruit with the crisp bitterness of hops. The day will feature all day specials to include $3.33 Blonde Ale pints, a new lineup of Wing Wednesday flavors, and live music from Chalako the Band from 5:30-7:30PM.
Acknowledging support from the community as a reason for their long-term success, Barrio will be highlighting a different local Tucson charity every Wednesday in May by donating $1 of each pint sold that day to their cause. Charitable organizations include The Tucson Family Food Project, Neighbors Feeding Neighbors, Sister Jose Women’s Center, Old Pueblo Community Services, and 1 Veteran Foundation.
“This great community has done so much for Barrio. We are honored to work with these amazing organizations to help increase awareness about their cause and raise money so that they can continue their great work.” continued Dickman. “What better way to celebrate than to give back to those that are helping to make our community better.”
The Anniversary Celebration is open to the public and will run on Wednesday, May 1st from 11am-10pm. Barrio Brewing is a full-service restaurant with a dog-friendly patio.
About Barrio Brewing Company
Founded by Dennis and Tauna Arnold in 1991, Barrio started life as Gentle Ben's Brewing Company near the University of Arizona campus, and their flagship beer, Barrio Blonde, is the oldest continuously brewed beer in the state's history. In 2006, a needed expansion moved the brewery's production facilities and restaurant to a 22,000 square foot building in downtown Tucson that was originally constructed as a Quenset hut in 1947. In 2020, the Arnold’s sold the entirety of the business to their employees through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). Additional licensed taproom locations include Barrio Brewing at Mesa-Gateway Airport, Deer Valley Airport, & Tucson International Airport. Barrio Brewing Co. produces nearly 12,000 barrels each year in its state of the art 30-barrel system.
