Brewbound Session: Exploring the Impact of a Growing Marijuana Economy on Alcohol

vivien-azer

Tomorrow, voters in five states will decide whether to legalize sales of recreational marijuana. And on December 1, Vivien Azer, Cowen and Company’s managing director and senior research analyst specializing in the beverage, tobacco and cannabis sectors, will discuss how a growing marijuana economy could impact companies in the alcohol sector.

Azer — along with 10 other Cowen analysts — recently compiled a 110 report on the cannabis industry and, at the Brewbound Session, she will share her team’s findings while taking a deep dive into the interaction between alcohol and marijuana.

Throughout her presentation, Azer will share statistics on the growing number of cannabis users, their consumption habits and the possible near term risk recreational marijuana legalization presents for alcohol beverage companies.

The Brewbound Session, a full-day business conference for serious brewery professionals, will gather more than 200 attendees to discuss important industry issues and exchange ideas while learning strategies for success in the most competitive sector of the alcohol beverage category.
