Crooked Stave Introduces 12 oz. Cans, New Logo

Denver, Colo. – Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project is excited to announce the release of three select Brettanomyces beers in 4-packs of 12-ounce cans. The cans’ fresh new look will be added to the brewery’s current portfolio, highlighting this new side of Crooked Stave’s identity by incorporating vibrant colors, soft imagery, and a refreshed design.

Headquartered in Denver, Colorado, Crooked Stave has strived to progressively blend science and art through creativity and passion.  The introduction of 12-ounce cans will allow Crooked Stave to continue their commitment to educating consumers on Brettanomyces through consumer-friendly packaging, and will mark a new chapter for the brewery as a leader in the creation of wild and sour beer.

Can distribution in Colorado will commence mid-June and feature a series of three Crooked Stave Brettanomyces beer styles. The first style, a citrus saison called St. Bretta is a re-imagination of early farmhouse saisons brewed in Europe combining fresh citrus characteristics with yeast-driven tropical fruit flavors and aromas. The second release will be HopSavant, a Brettanomyces IPA.  Consumers should not expect a sour beer; this is a hoppy IPA-style beer brewed with Crooked Stave’s Brettanomyces yeast strains. The subtle Brett characteristics give way to pungent, citrusy, resinous hops, with a pleasant tropical fruit finish. Lastly, Crooked Stave will release Colorado WildSage, a Brett Saison brewed to pay homage to the great state of Colorado by incorporating fresh herbs, including white sage and lemongrass and utilizing all Colorado ingredients.

“We at Crooked Stave find solace playing in the Colorado mountains and possess a great pride for the place we call home. We brewed Colorado WildSage in order to deliver a little bit of the high country to anyone who decides to share this beer with us. The new packaging will allow the Colorado community to take their favorite traditional styles without being limited to where they are consumed,” states Chad Yakobson, Crooked Stave Owner and Brewmaster.

St. Bretta, HopSavant, and Colorado WildSage 4-packs can be purchased throughout the state of Colorado starting mid-June and in our tasting room on Brighton Blvd starting June 9th. Following the release of Crooked Stave’s Brett series, the brewery will be debuting this packaging for their Pilsner and IPA’s early this fall.  So, throw some cans in your cooler before you head on the river or bring a 4-pack on your next backcountry hike. Unfiltered and naturally wild, Crooked Stave packages each can with a small amount of yeast to maintain maximum freshness for wherever life’s adventures take you.
