Overview

Bière de Mac Brew Works is a father-and-son, French- and Belgian-inspired microbrewery, restaurant, and beer garden located in Mackinaw City, Michigan — the only dedicated production brewery on the Lower Peninsula side of the Straits of Mackinac.
Founded in 2017 by Danny and George Ranville, we specialize in authentic small-batch European-style ales on a 7-barrel system. Our flagship Blueberry Wheat (crisp American wheat with real blueberries and a subtle berry finish) now accounts for nearly two-thirds of our total distribution and remains a regional favorite. Our award-winning Fleur de Mac — a biere de garde farmhouse ale — was created in collaboration with Mackinac State Historic Parks and was named MLive’s 2020 Beer of the Year.
We pour 12–14 rotating taps featuring Belgian singles, dubbels, tripels, saisons, and French-inspired farmhouse ales alongside a focused menu of upscale comfort food, smoked meats, and seasonal specials. Our spacious outdoor beer garden with bonfires, lawn games, and live music regularly turns quick stops into multi-hour experiences for both locals and tourists.
Strategically positioned just ¼ mile south of the Mackinac Bridge on Mackinaw Highway, we serve as the perfect first (or last) stop for travelers crossing between Michigan’s Lower and Upper Peninsulas, Mackinac Island ferry passengers, and Pure Michigan Byway explorers. We are a Proud Pure Michigan Hidden Gem Brewery (2026 official state feature).
