Major Brands, the largest Missouri-owned distributor of beer, wine and spirits, has released Schlafly Beer’s brand rights to the Saint Louis Brewery, ending the two parties’ 17-year distribution partnership as of Monday.

Heavy Seas Beer today announced that industry veteran Dan Kopman, who co-founded the Saint Louis Brewery, makers of Schlafly Beer, will takeover as the Baltimore brewery’s new CEO on May 1.
Schlafly Beer introduces today a new, premium series for 2017: From The Ibex Cellar. The new collection, over a year and a half in the making, will feature six bold hand-crafted beers from the Ibex Cellar, the exclusive room beneath the historic Tap Room in downtown St. Louis. Here, only the most select beers are brought to age and evolve and the “From The Ibex Cellar” beers showcase special care in every detail from packaging to process. The first installment will hit the market in the coming weeks with Schlafly’s Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout.
Schlafly Beer co-founder Dan Kopman will depart the company after 25 years. In an email to Brewbound, Kopman said the decision to leave the brewery was part of previously agreed upon timeline with Sage Capital, the St. Louis-based private equity firm that acquired a majority stake in the company in 2012.

It’s in the name and inherently in every step of the brewing process: Schlafly Beer launches the third brew of its seasonal rotating IPA series with American IPA made with U.S.-grown hops, available starting Memorial Day, May 30.
Schlafly Beer knows a beer’s greatest strength can oftentimes be found in its simplicity. The St. Louis-based brewery announces the limited special release of Schlafly Saison, available today. Schlafly fermented this beer with a blend of French and Belgian yeast strains typically used in traditional farmhouse ales. Schlafly produced just 250 cases of Saison for 2016 that will be sent across its distribution area.

Schlafly Beer, the largest independent and locally owned craft brewery in Missouri, announces the release of White Lager, available now through March 2016. The German-style beer offers an unfiltered twist on traditional lagers. The style dates back to the Middle Ages with a noticeably hazy, golden hue, hint of orange zest, and silky finish.
The Saint Louis Brewery, makers of the popular craft beer Schlafly, has brought on a new chief executive officer. James Pendegraft, a Saint Louis native and the former vice president of sales & marketing for North American Breweries, a subsidiary of Florida Ice & Farm Co., will take over as Saint Louis Brewery’s CEO. He replaces co-founder Dan Kopman.
During a panel discussion on succession planning at this month’s Craft Brewers Conference in Denver, Colo., New Belgium co-founder Kim Jordan along with Schlafly co-founder Dan Kopman and First Beverage Group vice president, J.B. Shireman, shared insights into the various succession strategies for craft brewers.
Electrical engineering conglomerate Siemens announced today it would launch a national advertisement highlighting how its automation technology has facilitated growth at The Saint Louis Brewery. The ad, titled, “American Manufacturing is Brewing Something Big,” features Siemens’ BRAUMAT Compact PCS7 system, which was used to automate Schlafly’s St. Louis brewhouse and double its production capacity.
