Report Highlights:
- For the 2024 calendar year, dollar trends have stabilized somewhat for wine (-2.8%) and beer (-0.7%). Spirits experienced a significant slowing of growth in 2024 in off-premise channels, with essentially flat dollar growth (+0.2%).
- Share of wallet: A significant shift for beer this quarter, up 0.7 in dollar share, at the expense of wine. Spirits up slightly (+0.1), also gaining from wine.
- While beer grew in value, volume declined by 1.4%. On the other hand, spirits volume grew, surpassing growth in dollars (-0.5%).
- Wine experienced declines in both $ and volume.
- Beer off-premise dollar growth for the latest quarter was driven by c-store and food channels. Wine and spirits continue to gain distribution points in c-store. All three categories experienced declines in liquor channel.
- Total non-alc adult beverage up 27% in 2024 compared to 2023, and up 68% from 2 years ago. Beer accounts for 84% of non-alc adult beverage volume, with craft and imports as the primary drivers.
NA volume decline however is slowing, and trending in a positive direction in recent time periods.
