The Traveler Beer Company, known for making THE American Craft Shandy, is digging through its time capsule to re-release Time Traveler Strawberry Shandy, a fan favorite from 2013. For the first time ever, the Shandy maker is bringing a beer out of the vault after countless requests from fans across the country.

Traveler Beer, the three-year-old shandy/fruit beer line operated by Boston Beer’s Alchemy & Science subsidiary, debuted its first national ad this week, a 30-second spot dubbed “The Road to Refreshment.” Starring Traveler president Alan Newman (and his yellow spectacles), the ad coincides with the national launch of the brand, which Boston Beer president and CEO Martin Roper detailed earlier this year during a fourth quarter earnings call. “I’ve been fired by every company I’ve ever worked for,” says Newman at the start of the ad. “The only things I was ever good at were traveling and beer.”

If you ask Alan Newman what it’s like to build a craft brewery in Miami, expect to hear a few expletives. Newman, the president of Alchemy & Science — a craft beer incubator and wholly-owned subsidiary of Boston Beer — has been trying to pry open the doors to Concrete Beach Brewery for nearly 18 months but the company, Newman said, has encountered a myriad of confusing permitting and zoning regulations along the way.
