Brouwerij West's Inaugural Lutefisk Dinner, a Norwegian Specialty, 11/20. www.brouwerijwest.com

Brouwerij West, recently named LA Weekly’s “Best New Brewery” for 2016, is throwing their first annual Norwegian dinner honoring the winter holidays featuring lutefisk and lefse, two traditional dishes from Scandinavia, plus Brouwerij West beer and more. The idea for the dinner came from Brouwerij West’s Founder and brewmaster, Brian Mercer, a fourth generation Norwegian-American who grew up in the Nordic-heavy Los Angeles neighborhood of San Pedro as a way to showcase his childhood ethnic traditions of the working-class area. The dinner will include lutefisk (a cured whitefish), lefse (a Norwegian unleavened bread), rømmegraut (a sour cream porridge) and other native Scandinavian fare, like meatballs, lingonberry sauce, and boiled potatoes. The event is priced $39 per person, which includes two pints of Brouwerij West’s popular unfiltered pilsner, Popfuji. For children between the ages of 7 – 12, the price of the dinner is $10, and the dinner is free for children 6 and under.
